The age old cautionary tale for a fangirl is “don’t meet your idol because, most of the time, you will be disappointed.” After all, it’s easier to admire from afar — right?
It’s sometimes hard to gage the true personality of your favourite celebrities. While some on-air interviews are especially flattering to celebrities, sometimes our faves are caught on an off-day or are just off guard when approached. Some people have wonderful interactions with celebs on the street, while sometimes our faves are just to tired to really interact with fans. It’s honestly hard sometimes to see the genuine person your fave is because, hey, we’re all human and sometimes just have a bad day.
We will say this: more often than not, when you meet your favourite celebrity — your excitement about them makes them excited. Lets be honest, when you are lucky enough to have that one one one time with someone you admire, it’s a glorious moment you will probably replay in your head constantly.
When you approach your fave in a calm, non-threatening way, the response will normally be positive — lets face it, a lot of our faves are sweethearts.
Here’s a list of a few musicians/actors/Youtubers that have been known to love interacting with fans — and are cute AF about it:
1. Demi Lovato
One of the most inspirational pop icons of this generation is Demi Lovato. She’s overcome many things during her time in the spotlight that have made her a great role model and her encounters with fans are just everything.
2. Justin Bieber
Bieber is known for making all his fans happy. With the charities he takes part in and his fans known to wait hours for him, it’s no surprise why he gives his Beliebers his all.
3. Daniel Radcliffe
Radcliffe has been in the public eye since he was a child so sometimes it’s hard to believe that someone this well known and recognizable could still, to this very day, be so nice. As said by ANDPOP’s host Simon Mohos, “I left the interview [with him] saying, Wow, what a nice guy.”
4. Fifth Harmony
No surprise here that these girls are on our list of sweetest celebs. We love being around their positive and lovable vibes and the way they interact with fans.
5. Charlie McDonnell
He maybe one of the more quieter of the Youtubers, but we can say full heartedly, he’s one of the kindest and most inspiring content creators on Youtube right now. Make sure to check him out at Buffer Festival in Toronto!
6. Tom Hiddleston
We can personally vote for Hiddleston as one of the sweetest humans around. After getting a minute with him at the 2015 Toronto International Film Festival, we can now call ourselves ‘Hiddlestoners.’

7. Jack O’Connell
You may remember this actor from his role in Skins, but that’s not all he’s known for. Jack O’Connell is definitely on our list of one of the nicest actors to have graced us.
8. Hedley
Canadian band Hedley are so wild and we love it. They’re so genuine and real when they meet fans that we can’t help but want to meet them over and over again.
9. Robert Pattinson
Heartthrob R-Pattz has always been on our list of people we would love to meet. He’s one of those humble actors that we know he would be so sweet to meet in person.
10. Hilary Duff
Hilary Duff has been around since we were kids and she has not left her sweet, inspiring ways.
11. Douglas Booth
At the 2014 Toronto International Film Festival premiere of his film Riot Club, Douglas had a huge turn out but that didn’t stop him from greeting every fan waiting – which was in the hundreds. What made it all even more amazing was that he took time to stop and quickly chat with some fans. ANGEL!
12. Bethany Mota
We love her dimples, her DIY’s and her genuine personality she has with her fans. So much love.
13. Waka Flocka Flame
Our ANDPOP host had only nice things to say about Waka which leaves us only wanting to meet this rapper and experience his niceness in person!
14. Max Schneider
Max is a quadruple threat: actor, singer, dancer and amazing human. Yup, we’re adding amazing human on this list because Max is one of the sweetest people we’ve met to date.
15. Ben Brown
There’s a reason why many look up to Vlogger Ben Brown. The Youtuber oozes positivity along with creativity. After all, his outro is “Remember to work hard, be nice to people and try not to get lost or killed. Okay, I love you. Goodbye.” Can we hug him forever?
16. Darren Criss
High fives all around if you’ve met Darren Criss because we’re forever jealous of you. Darren is best known from TV series Glee , his involvement in Starkid and his ongoing stints on Broadway — and we love every project he has attached himself to. Countless sweet videos of Darren greeting fans at stage door after his Broadway performances just go to show Darren’s dedication to his fans and his appreciation for their love and support.
17. Troye Sivan
We only wish we could say we’ve met the Australian cutie, but seeing fans encounters with Troye is enough for us to want to meet him. As should you. (Go to 5:25)
18. Rupert Grint
If we could name the entire cast of Harry Potter, we would – they’re all that nice. Rupert Grint is one of those actors who I have yet to hear one negative comment about and never expect to.
19. Olly Murs
After the multiple times meeting Olly Murs, including playing soccer with him thanks to ANDPOP way back when, I can say that my theory of “British People are The Nicest” is fact. I’ve met Murs back in 2012, 2013 in England, 2014, and 2015 — and every time he was nothing but nice and courteous.
